Spagyric: The Alchemy of Plants
Spagyria is a traditional form of plant alchemy based on the principle of “solve et coagula” which is to dissolve and recombine.

A plant is separated into its three philosophical components:
Salt → Materia Medica
The Body of the Plant
The physical expression of the plant: Constituents, tissues, minerals, actions, energetics, organ affinities, preparations.
The question: What does this plant do in the body?
Mercury → Materia Energetica
The Spirit of the Plant
The moving, living, relational aspect of the plant: Its movement through the body, aromatic qualities, patterns, cycles, and relationship with the human system.
The question: How does this plant move, communicate, and interact?
Sulfur → Materia Magica
The Soul of the Plant
The essence, character, symbolism, archetype, and spiritual relationship.
Planetary correspondences, elements, deities, tarot, ritual associations, magical traditions.
The question: What wisdom, ritual, and magic does this plant carry?
